‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ is a wonderful novel written by Harper Lee. The book was first published by Lippincott & Co. in 1960 AD. The book talks about the themes of racial injustice, moral growth, and empathy in the American South during the 1930s. The story of the book is set in the town of Maycomb during the first half of the 1900s. The book is about the Finch family, from the perspective of Scout Finch, a young girl and her brother Jem. Jem and Scout’s father, Atticus Finch, is a lawyer with fame and reputation who later defends Tom Robinson, who is a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell. The trial of Tom Robinson can be seen as the focal point of the story as it exposes the racism and prejudice ingrained within the Maycomb Society.

National Paddy Day / Dhan Diwas has been formally celebrated in Nepal since 2061 BS. But for centuries, it has been the custom to celebrate the 15th of Asar as a time of eating Dahi chura, planting paddy and celebration remained. This year, it is being celebrated all over Nepal as the 19th Paddy Day. The dates of each full moon are considered sacred and celebrated as a festival. The date of the full moon is called Purnima/ Poornima in Sanskrit.The full moon has special significance for donation, Yagnas, holy bath, donation, and invocation. It is believed that fasting on this day will take away the pain and also get rid of the Pitri Dosha. According to the Hindu lunar calendar, Sant Kabir Jayanti is celebrated on the day of Jyeshtha Purnima, the full moon in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha. This means it normally takes place in late May or June.

Mohini Ekadashi falls in the Shukla paksha of Baisakh month. In Sanatana mythology, Mohini is the name of the disguised form of Lord Vishnu which appeared in the form of Mohini Ekadashi. Observing this Ekadashi washes every sin committed in this life and also from previous lives, this Ekadashi delivers more results and glories as achieved by donating a thousand cows or rendering huge charity.

Mother Sita was married to Lord Ram in Tretayug, Sita has many other names including Mithila, Janaki, Ramnandani and Baidehi and many more. In Janakpur, which is now part of Nepal, Sita is considered to be the daughter of King Janak. However, there are various other statements and sayings about Sita's birth. Various stories that Sita was found by King Janak while plowing the field and that Sita, the daughter of the earth, re-entered the earth after the ordeal are still a household anecdotes. The Rig Veda, written before the birth of Sita, i.e. Tretayuga, depicts Sita as the mother goddess of the earth. Since it was revealed from the earth, Sita must have been named after the goddess mentioned in the Rig Veda

सीता माताको विवाह रामसँग त्रेता युगमा भएको हो । मिथिला, जानकी, रामनन्दकी लगायत सीताका अन्य धेरै नामहरू छन् ।नेपाली भू–भागमा पर्ने जनकपुरमा राजा जनकको छोरीका रूपमा सीतालाई मानिन्छ तथापि सीताका जन्मका विषयमा भने विभिन्न अन्य कथन अनि किंवदन्तीहरू पाइन्छ ।सीतालाई राजा जनकले खेत जोत्दा भेटेका र धर्तीकी छोरी मानिन्छ । सीता पुनः अग्निपरीक्षापछि धर्तीमै समाहित भएको कथाहरू अझै पनि घर–घरमा सुनिन्छ । रावण अपहरणमा परेसँगै सीताको सतीत्व र पवित्रमाथि प्रश्न उठेपछि सतीत्व प्रमाणित गर्न सीता अग्निपरीक्षामा उत्रिएको किंवदन्ती घर–घरमा सुन्न पाइन्छ ।

बि सं १९६९ मा लान चाह्यौं आज, पूर्वी नेपालको ओखलढुगां मा । लगभग आजभन्दा ११० वर्षअघि नेपाली साहित्यका मुर्धन्य व्यक्ति युगकवि सिद्धिचरण श्रेष्ठको जन्म भएको हो । हरेक वर्ष जेष्ठ शुक्ल पञ्चमीका दिनमा युगकवि सिद्धिचरण श्रेष्ठको जन्मजयन्ती मनाउने गरिन्छ, हुन त गतेका हिसाबले जेष्ठ ९ मा युगकवि को जन्मजयन्ती पर्ने हो तर यसवर्षको मलमासका कारणले तिथी सरेर असार ४ मा पर्न गएको छ । यस वर्षको जेष्ठ शुक्ल पञ्चमीका दिन पर्न गएको युगकवि को जन्मजयन्तीको चर्चा गर्न चाह्यौं । कवि श्रेष्ठका कविताहरु आज पनि उत्तिकै सान्दर्भिक छन्, त्यसैले नै वहाँलाई युगकवि भनिएको हुनपर्दछ । शुरु गर्न चाह्यौं वहाँका केही नसुनिएका कविताहरु संगै ।

Let's travel back to 1969BS, about 110 years ago from today, Siddhicharan Shrestha, the great poet of Nepali literature, was born in Okhaldhunga, a city of eastern Nepal. Every year on the day of Jeshtha Shukla Panchami, the birth anniversary of Yugakavi Siddhicharan Shrestha is celebrated.

Families and family-oriented policies and programs are vital for the achievement of many of these goals.

"कोही किन बरबाद होस्" प्रसिद्ध लेखक विजय मल्ल द्वारा लिखित नेपाली किताब र नाटक हो । यो किताब ४४ पृष्ठ भएको छोटो किताब हो भने किताबको आवरण चित्र, चित्रकार टेकवी मुखियाले बनाउनुभएको हो । यो किताब साझा प्रकाशनले प्रकशित गरेका हुन् भने यस किताबको पहिलो संस्करण वि.स. २०२६ मा भएको थियो । यस किताबको १८ संस्करण छन् र अन्तिम संस्करण वि.स. २०७८मा गरिएको थियो । यो नेपाली किताब, ध्रुव नामको केटामा आधारित छ जसले आफ्नो विद्यालयमा विद्यार्थीहरूलाई गडबडी गरिरहेको देखिन्छ तर पछि एक शिक्षकले ध्रुवको अशान्त व्यवहारको कारण पत्ता लगाएपछि शिक्षकहरूले समाधान निकाल्छन् जसले ध्रुवलाई आफ्नो पढाइ र व्यवहारमा सुधार गर्न मद्दत गर्छन् ।
